Due to its size, the Kiddicare Baby Weavers ME5 - HI-LO High Chair would dominate even roomy kitchens, and there’s nothing exactly subtle about it. But it is practical and has all the necessary features, with Cameron slipping easily into the seat, with plenty of room for growth.
What we love
My son Cameron is 8 months old and therefore mealtimes are a messy business. When food is flicked, dropped and played with the substantial removable tray is perfect.
The cushioned seat is a good size, adequately padded and easy to wipe clean. There are few crevices in which food can be jammed or squashed!
The wheels attached to the back legs are a welcomed addition, as due to its size it is difficult to manoeuvre, and without the wheels I’d find it impossible.
Highchairs can tend to fall into two categories - stylish and wooden or practical and plastic. Whilst my preference would be something like Mothercare’s Valencia wooden highchair or the Stokke Tripp Trapp because they’re smart and compact, my son Cameron is far happier sitting in this one! He is as comfortable playing in the Kiddicare Baby Weavers ME5 - HI-LO High Chair as he is eating, and he can wriggle around safely in what is an incredibly sturdy highchair.
What to watch out for
As lots of net reviewers have noted it is bulky and has a huge footprint. Even when folded away it takes up a great deal of room. I couldn’t recommend this highchair to anyone that’s limited on space. It’s not light, I can’t lift it, and therefore it wouldn’t suit someone that needed to pack it away after every meal.
Also, I can't fold this highchair. I had to get my husband to do it, though I am 7 months pregnant and unsure if that's got something to do with it.
Who is the Kiddicare Baby Weavers ME5 - HI-LO High Chair best for?
Parents with lots of kitchen space after a roomy highchair.
MadeForMums verdict
The Kiddicare Baby Weavers ME5 - HI-LO High Chair is big, and while there is no getting away from it’s size, this can be an advantage if you have the space. The large seat, tray and frame all ensure your baby is comfortable and safe and has the room to experiment, wriggle and grow. It can’t be pushed neatly up to the table, nor can it be easily tidied away, but as a permanent feature in a roomy kitchen it is worth considering.
