Priced at just £6.99, as well as being eco-friendly, the maker says it could save upwards of £19 in comparison to disposables, if used weekly over 12 months.
What we love
The Konfidence Aqua Nappy comes in a wide range of fun designs suitable for boys and girls although the ‘pant’ style shape is the same for both sexes. The nappy fitted my 18-month-old son comfortably, with plenty of room left to grow.
The elasticated leg openings where snug but left my son able to kick his legs about in the pool easily and I have no doubt that these, combined with the elasiticated waist fine mesh inner lining, would make leaks unlikely.
The Konfidence Aqua Nappy is competitively priced, and although it would make only a relatively small saving compared to disposables, packing a few of these washable nappies to go away on holiday would be far more convenient than taking a bulky packet of disposables alongside your baby’s usual nappies.
I’m also impressed with the way the Aqua Nappy washes - the fabric has not ‘bobbled’ even after several uses and the smell of chlorine does not linger, even though it has to be cleaned on a temperature no higher than 30 degrees.
A couple of mums at the pool who spotted my toddler wearing an Aqua Nappy asked me where I had got it from, no doubt attracted by the neat and professional look!
What to watch out for
As with all products that claim to fit your baby for an extended growing period, you can never really know how long they’ll last until they grow. However, at just £6.99, even just a year or so of wear would not be unreasonable.
As all parents should know, if your young swimmer does decide to test the reliability of the Konfidence Aqua Nappy, you must leave the pool just as you would with any type of swim nappy. The key is to choose a nappy that gives you time to get out without making a mess and to enjoy splashing around without worrying. For that, Konfidence certainly seems to fit the bill.
Who is the Konfidence Aqua Nappy best for?
Parents who regularly use the pool or families heading off to a beach holiday.
The Konfidence Aqua Nappy has already met with the approval of the little swimmers, swim instructors and parents involved in its development, and certainly appears to do the job.
