Pros

  • Extra dryness

Cons

  • Tabs not so strong

Pampers Baby-Dry are suitable from when your child’s a young baby up to the toddler years. While slimmer and less bulky than some other leading brands, this hasn’t meant Pampers has compromised on absorbency – Baby-Dry will still see your baby right through the night.

Pampers Baby-Dry are created for the younger baby with the emphasis being on dryness. The closest comparison would probably be Huggies Super Dry. The Baby-Dry version is made in various sizes to take your baby up to toddler stage if you wish. Pampers do however make the Active Fit range which is an option to use instead when baby is on the move. You can also use both, Active Fit for when baby is on the move in the day and Baby-Dry for night.

One of the biggest selling points of Pampers Baby-Dry is the up to 12 hours skin protection, which is perfect if your little one is managing to sleep through the night!

What we lov.

The first thing I noticed was that the Baby-Dry versions are much thinner than Huggies Super Dry. Being slender, it made them easy to go on. There seemed to be less restrictive bulk around the legs and they looked as though that made them more comfy for Joshua to wear. The waistband also went around his tummy really well with really good elasticity at the waist.

I took Joshua out and about so he’d be running around and also left him as long as I comfortably could (in the interests of science you understand) before changing him.

So would the thinness compromise the absorbency?

It seems not. Pampers Baby-Dry certainly held out for much of the day on wee. Joshua’s bottom was pretty clammy by the change but I wouldn’t expect anything less. On more regular changes he was pretty dry.

Pampers Baby-Dry coped rather well on the poo front too. Perhaps it was down to the more elasticated waistband, or the thinner seeming nappy simply allowing more room around the bottom for the poo to be contained until I could find somewhere to get him changed.

What to watch out for

The one issue with the ‘lots of wee’ experiment, was that Joshua's nappy dangled down quite dramatically leaving huge gaps round the legs. If he’d decided to follow number one with number two there could have been quite a disaster.

The tabs also couldn’t handle the weight and one popped off, possibly with Joshua’s help, which I only discovered when he handed me his sodden nappy. Obviously, you wouldn't normally want to leave your baby in such a wet, heavy nappy but occasionally this may happen.

Pampers Baby-Dry are fairly expensive £5.94 for 34, but offers are often an option in major supermarkets, both in store and online, so always keep an eye out.

Who are Pampers Baby-Dry best for?

Mums who need a reliable nappy that can last all night.

MadeForMums verdict

Overall, the Pampers’ absorbency was very good and they are nappies you can rely on for a whole night of dryness for your little one.
