It’s a common scenario: ask your child if they need to use the toilet before you leave the house and the answer will almost always be no. But guaranteed, as soon as you reach your destination (or usually before you even get there), you’ll hear the familiar: “I need to go toilet.” Like most people, I’m not a fan of public toilets, and while with boys you do have the benefit of not always having to sit on the toilet, they are occasions when sitting is required. Enter the Toodle-Loo!
The Toodle-Loo Toddler’s Fold-Away Loo Seat is suitable from 12 months to 5 years and costs a very reasonable £9.95. According to Simple Solutions, the seat will fit on any toilet, including those on planes, but I’ve only tried it on a standard toilet so far.
What we love
This handy, folding seat is perfect for when you’re out and about or going on holiday. The Toodle-Loo Toddler’s Fold-Away Loo Seat folds into a quarter of its size, comes with its own carry case (complete with carry handle) and can easily be popped into your handbag.
It’s made of plastic with simple ridges to support your child, and to hold it in place on the loo. There is no padded seat, which means it folds completely flat, so it’s a great space saver. My son was happy to sit on it and felt completely secure while he did his business. It stayed completely flat and even though it’s only 5mm thick (when in use), it didn’t buckle when he sat on it, so it’s really sturdy, too.
The other big bonus is that it’s really easy to keep clean and the carry bag that comes with it is big enough for a pack of wipes too. It’s ideal for taking out and it’s definitely going on holiday with us!
What to look out for
Although the Toodle-Loo Toddler’s Fold-Away Loo Seat is really easy to clean, you do need to be careful of the hinged areas as they could become grubby.
My only other criticism (and I’m really nit-picking here!) is that the carry bag is made of clear plastic, so you can see what’s in it. I would prefer a bag where you couldn’t see its contents. Walking through a restaurant with a toilet seat can be a bit embarrassing!

The Toodle-Loo Toddler’s Fold-Away Loo Seat is portable, practical and easy to keep clean. Its price tag is great and you can just pop it in your handbag so you’ll never be caught short. It’s also safe and sturdy but should come with a carry bag you can’t see through.
