Pros

  • Portable, stylish, will grow with your child.

Cons

  • Very expensive.

Stokkke prides itself on its company motto of doing “everything in the best interest of the child,” which if you look at its baby-focused products, you can see it hits every time.

It endeavours to use environmentally friendly and biodegradable materials wherever possible and aims to bring peace of mind to parents with energy saving techniques, fuel-efficient shipping and distribution methods.

While doing all of this, the brand still manages to make its merchandise look good. And there’s no exception with the Sleepi Mini, which has been modeled on the iconic award-winning design classic the Sleepi.

The epitome of style the Sleepi Mini looks great, grows with your child and is super portable for those precious early days.

How easy is it to assemble?

It was quite easy to build the cot, the instructions were easy to follow and it only took about half an hour.

What is the age range of the Sleepi?

The Sleepi acts in the same way as a Moses basket, it provides a nestlike environment and is suitable from birth. But it lasts longer, until 6 months (by contrast most babies grow too big for Moses baskets at around 3 months).

And with Stokke’s ingenious extras its life span is virtually endless. When your baby out grows the cot you can buy an extension pack to turn the Sleepi cot into a bed, and finally a sofa or two chairs if you want to.

Who would is the Sleepi ideal for?

This cot is perfect for flat dwelling urbanites that are short on space but big on style.

Is the cot easy to move around?

Yes, the lockable wheels on the bottom allow the cot to be easily moved from room to room - ideal for the newborn phase when baby is sleeping a lot but you want them to be close to you.

Is it value for money?

This cot undoubtedly looks utterly fabulous but with a high price tag of £429 it is very expensive. As I’ve said before it will last for many years providing you buy the extension packs to turn it into a full size cot and then a bed, and then a sofa/two chairs, but they're not cheap either. Even the cot accessories are quite dear - we found one fitted sheet for sale online at £17 and a cot bumper for £55.

Another potential pitfall is that if you buy this for your first child but go on to have subsequent babies you won't necessarily be able to use the cot and the bed at the same time, so may end up having to buy another cot or bed.

Made For Mums verdict?

The price does definitely make this an investment piece but the Sleepi comes with a seven-year guarantee, is both comfy and super sturdy and provides the ultimate in versatile nursery furniture.
