They also do this baby activity centre, the Pop N’ Jump. A colourful fabric seat attached to a lightweight folding frame, the Pop N’ Jump features 3 height levels, interactive toys and a removable sun canopy.
The Pop n’ Jump retails at £69.99, which is the same price as the Fisher Price Roarin’ Rainforest Jumperoo, if purchased at its lowest online price. While the seat doesn’t spin 360 degrees and it doesn’t play music, the Pop n’ Jump is more suited to outdoors use and is more portable with its carry bag.
I like this product mainly due to how simple it is to ‘pop’ up and the toys that come with it: a mirror book, a spinning rattle and plastic toys that are attached but which babies can also pick up and chew! My 7-month-old loves it and I’m sure he will get a fair bit of use out of it.
What is the best age for the Pop n’ Jump?
The Summer Infant Pop N Jump is suitable from 6 months up to 11.3kg (around 11 months) so it seems to have a limited lifespan of less than 6 months. Saying that, my baby is seven months old and he really enjoys it. I do think he will be using this until he reaches the walking stage or is about 12 months.
How easy is it to build the Pop n’ Jump?
It’s very easy to set up. It comes folded down in its carry bag, so you just need to unfold it and pop the metal brackets into place at either side and attach the canopy.
Is it easy to put up and take down?
Yes, to take it down again, you just remove the canopy and unclip the brackets.
How heavy is the Pop n’ Jump?
It is 4.4kg, and you can feel it. It’s pretty light and easy to pick up and move, or carry when folded up in its bag. But it’s not so light that it would blow away in a breeze, however.
Is it portable?
Yes, it’s very portable because it can be folded down into a compact bag for car or train travel.
Does it have any screws or attachments?
The sun canopy is an attachment which buttons on to the Pop N’ Jump, as is the seat which can be taken off for cleaning. The only other movable part is the legs, which can be easily adjusted to lower and raise the seat height.
Is it still sturdy if your little ones pull and push on it when inside?
The Pop n’ Jump is very sturdy and doesn’t move around when babies are inside. They just stand in it, play with the various toys and bounce up and down.
It seems really durable and the toys have weathered quite a lot of chewing and yanking from my baby.
Can it be stored compactly?
It folds down very compactly into its carry bag for storage or transportation. For this reason, I prefer the Pop n’ Jump to the Fisher Price Jumperoo, which is also more difficult to set up and fold down.
How comfortable does it feel for your little ones?
I think my baby is comfortable in it for around 20 minutes at a time, as with any similar activity centre, before he wants to go and crawl around or do another activity.
Is it safe for your little ones?
The seat and toys all seem very safe as there are no small parts which could become detached and nowhere for him to trap his fingers. I think the metal hinges on the side are also safe when he’s crawling around next to it.
However, it doesn’t have the option of turning on music, the canopy doesn’t seem to sit straight, and the toys seem a little cheap in quality.
For example, the paint of the bee rattle is already coming off and uneven in places and in the book, the word ‘hoppin’’ is spelt with only one ‘p’. A baby isn’t going to notice these things, but I am a stickler for details!
Although I don’t have a garden, I like that you could use this outside due to its sun canopy and ground sheet. I also like its lightness and portability.
I would recommend the Pop n’ Jump as a baby entertainment centre if you are looking for a portable, non-musical product and you want something that can be used outdoors.
While the quality isn’t as good as the Fisher Price Jumperoo, I think the toys such as the mirror book and handheld rattle are more interesting.
