Looks like Elf on the Shelf has an ugly stepsister – meet the Fuggler, the new plush toy going viral this Christmas.

This collection of festive-themed teddies have just hit UK stores, made by popular toy creators Zuru.

Their brand-new 'Festive Fugg' range puts a Christmassy twist on previous soft toys with a Gingerbread Man, Reindeer, Snowman and Santa now included.

Like previous Fugglers, these plushies include human-like teeth, glaring eyes and a rare butt-on-hole, very much leaning into the 'ugly' toy trend brought about by Labubu's.

According to the brand, these toys are intended to be a grinch-like version of Elf on the Shelf: "They'll sneak into your home while you sleep, smash your tree ornaments, steal your presents and leave a foul odour in replacement of the cookies and milk you've left out."

At just £8, the range has been included in the Best Stocking Filler category of the MadeForMums Toy Awards 2025 and won Gold for Best Soft Toy – mainly due to their softness and unique characters.

One of our parent testers, Lucy, reported: "My son really enjoyed this Fuggler and took it to bed each night to snuggle. He thought the button on the bum was absolutely hilarious and was fascinated by the teeth and eyes."

Likewise the toys have been named in The Entertainer's must-have Christmas toys list. Plus, they also play into the kidult toy trend with adults and kids alike keen to collect all the different versions.
