1. Center Parcs Les Bois-Francs

Where is it? Center Parcs Les Bois-Francs is about a 90-minute drive from Paris. It’s also just 12 miles from Danville Chocdolatrium, a must-visit for chocolate lovers!

What water activities does it have? If you’re familiar with Center Parcs here in the UK, this place works in much the same way. Guests have free access to the Aqua Mundo aquatic centre, its heated pool and waterslides in the centre right in the heart of Center Parcs Les Bois Francs.

As well as plenty for the kids, there are some lovely water features for adults, too: visit the Deep Nature Spa which also has a sauna, steam bath and multi-jet showers. Beauty treatments are available too.

2. La Sirène

Where is it? This campsite is situated near the town of Argeles Plage, on the Mediterranean and close to Spain. The campsite itself is 900 metres from the beach.

What water activities does it have? There are 10,000 square metres of water here, described by the campsite owners as a ‘paradise lagoon’.

There’s 1 large outdoor swimming pool, with  a children’s lagoon pool and water slides, a covered and heated pool for children, giant slides and a relaxation pool. The camp also puts on poolside games if you fancy it.

3. La Pointe St-Gilles

Where is it? It’s in Benodet, Brittany. The nearest airport is Lorient (about 1 hour away) or you can fly to Nantes. from where it’s a 2 1/2 hour drive.

What water activities does it have? There are 5 pools here (indoor heated and outdoor), as well as a lazy river, caves and slides. Poolside loungers are available, too, and there’s a health and beauty centre for mum and dad (yay!)

4. Airotel L’Océan

Where is it? Lacanau, in the south west of France, a popular surfing destination. Bordeaux airport is just 33km away.

What water activities does it have? There are 5,000 squared metres of water fun here: 1,500 of those are covered and heated. There’s a wild river, lazy river, water slides, jets, paddling pool, multi-lane flumes, and 200 loungers. Once a week, part of the pool area stays open until 11pm and you can enjoy music, disco lights and snacks there.

5. Camping Le Château

Where is it? In the Pays de La Loire region of western France. Both Nantes Atlantique and La Rochelle are between 30 and 90 minutes’ drive away.

What water activities does it have? It has 2 x 12m water slides, water games and a dedicated toddler pool called Aqua Toon, which is basically a playground in shallow water. For older children and adult daredevils, there’s a 12m space bowl chute.

6. Les Sablons

Where is it? Les Sablons is in Portiragnes-Plage, Languedoc, in southern France. It’s just 10 minutes from Béziers-Vias airport and has direct beach access.

What water activities does it have? There are 4 outdoor heated pools, including a children’s pool and a Jacuzzi pool for adults only – with direct access to the bar. There are 2 slides for 8 years and over: one 14m one (a bumpy slide), and one 70m one (a twisty slide).

7. Camping Zagarella

Where is it? Camping Zaggarella is in the Pays de La Loire region of France (in the west central part of France). The nearest airport is Nantes.

What water activities does it have? There is a heated outdoor pool, indoor heated swimming pool, children’s pool with a snake waterslide, a ‘Pirate Island’ with slides and water games for children, and a space bowl slide for older children (minimum height 1.20m).

8. La Rive

Where is it? La Rive is 7km from the town of Bicarosse. The nearest airport is Bordeaux, 67km away.

What water activities does it have? There’s an indoor wave pool and tropical garden, lagoon, lazy river, 3 covered outdoor pools and a couple of 4m slides for all the family (one with 1 lane, one with 4 lanes).

9. Les Mimosas

Where is it? Les Mimosas is in Languedoc-Roussillon, in Portiragnes, southern France. The nearest airport is Béziers-Vias.

What water activities does it have? There’s a heated children’s paddling pool with a castle theme, an Aquatic Loop slide and a dedicated spa area with massage jets.

10. La Vallée

Where is it? La Vallée is situated in Normandy, in northern France. The nearest airport is Caen or you can go by ferry to Calais and drive, or go on the Eurostar and pick up a rental car. The drive from Calais to Normandy takes around 3 1/2 hours.

What water activities does it have? La Vallée has 2 outdoor pools (1 is a children’s pool). There are also 2 indoor covered pools (a family one and a children’s one) and a Jacuzzi. There’s also a water chute and space bowl slide, both suitable for all the family. Sun loungers are available, too ,and there’s a sun terrace.
