How to make raw Vegan Witches Fingers for Halloween

This vegan-friendly recipe using dates, prunes, honey and some cocoa powder makes a spooky treat - perfect for Halloween parties

  • 5 California Prunes
  • 3 dates 
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup 
  • 1 tbsp honey 
  • 1 tbsp water
  • Pinch of salt (optional) 
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves 
  • 1 tsp dark cocoa powder 
  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom 
  • 75g walnuts 
  • 90g almonds 

For decoration:

  • Pumpkin seeds 
  • 1 tsp red fruit puree


  • Step 1

    Blend almonds and walnuts until almost grounded, set aside.

  • Step 2

    In a food processor blend California Prunes, dates, maple syrup and honey until a paste is formed. Add water if needed.

  • Step 3

    Add almonds and walnuts, salt, cocoa and spices and blend until a dough forms. If dough is too sticky add a little more almonds/walnuts.

  • Step 4

    Divide the dough into 1 inch balls and roll them into finger shapes.

  • Step 5

    Place pumpkin seed at the tip using small amount of fruit pure.

  • Step 6

    Serve immediately or keep refrigerated until needed.

Raw witches fingers can be made a day ahead.

Makes 16 fingers.
