Asda’s latest baby clothing range alerts parents when baby is too hot
Asda's clothing brand George has today launched a range of heat-sensitive baby clothes that let parents know when their baby is too hot.
The garments in the TempAlert range each feature a heat sensitive label and a thermometer that changes colour to reveal an alert warning if a baby's temperature rises above normal. The idea is to help parents recognise early signs of illness, such as chicken pox, colds and ear infections.
"We know high temperatures are a constant worry for our customers and it's a really scary time being a new parent," says George brand director Fiona Lambert. "With this in mind we are proud to be able to include this on our George Baby range and make it affordable and available to everyone."
More than a quarter of new mums are unaware of the optimum body temperature of a newborn baby, which should be 36.4ºC-37ºC.
The range features nine 100% cotton garments at £5 each, from newborn to 18 months.
