The celebrity couple announce pregnancy joy after admitting to struggle conceiving
Former Shameless actors James McAvoy and Anne-Marie Duff have confirmed that they are going to be parents! The award winning actors, who got together on the set of the Channel 4 show in 2003 and married in 2006, have previously hinted at problems conceiving but are now looking forward to their new arrival.
Anne-Marie, 39, admitted when previously asked about starting a family, “As soon as the big fella makes it happen, it would be brilliant. I’m not putting it off, but unfortunately bodies don’t work that way.”
However, their worries have now been turned into joy, with the Hollywood couple announcing their good news. “We are happy to confirm that James and Anne-Marie are expecting their first child together,” a representative said.
Since their Shameless days, in which the couple played the role of girlfriend and boyfriend in the gritty series based in Manchester, both Anne-Marie and her 30-year-old hubby have gone onto greater things. James has starred in several Hollywood films such as Atonement, Last King of Scotland and Narnia Chronicles, and Anne-Marie earned a Bafta nomination and acclaim for her role as Joan of Arc at the National Theatre.
