Mission Impossible actor Tom Cruise was awarded the fourth ever Friars Club Entertainment Icon Award on Tuesday night in New York, and the leading lady at his side was his 6-year-old daughter Suri. Tom’s wife Katie Holmes was absent from the celebrations as she's filming her latest movie in Connecticut, according to the Daily Mail.

Suri, dressed in a pink ballgown and gold shoes, was accompanied by her brother Connor, Tom's adopted son with ex-wife Nicole Kidman. The pair listened to tributes to their dad in a ceremony hosted by Alex Baldwin, who co-stars with Tom in new movie Rock of Ages, which comes out on Friday.

Tom’s role in the movie has apparently left Suri rather shocked, however. Tom has revealed that the 6-year-old was “aghast” when she saw him on set in leather trousers and eyeliner, according to the Daily Mail.

“When I had the eyeliner and the painted nails, she was a little taken aback by it. She was like, ‘what’s happening to my dad?’

“I joke with my friends because she goes to (mum Katie Holmes’) sets and there’s hair and make-up and they’re very nice.” Tom said.
