The mother gave birth to six boys and two girls, who were nine weeks premature, by Caesarean section in California. Weighing in at between 1lb 8oz and 3lb 4oz, all eight tots are said to be doing well.

The medical team delivering the babies, had scheduled the c-section for seven arrivals, so were amazed when number eight came along, says Doctor Karen Maples, 'Lo and behold, after we got to Baby G, which is what we expected, we were surprised by Baby H!'

All eight of the babies are expected to be in incubators for at least six weeks, with their mother planning on breastfeeding every one!
