When we ran the fabulous (and exclusive) competition for one lucky family to win the golden ticket to see Thomas & Friends - Misty Island Rescue on the silver screen, we were inundated with entries. However, there could only be one winner and that was .... (drum roll) Charmaine Faulds from Surrey!

So we sent Charmaine and her son Harry and his cousin Max to meet Thomas and his friends at the Vue cinema in Leicester Square, London. This is how they got on...

"I couldn't sleep the night before because I was so excited for Harry. Although he felt abit unwell the previous day, I believe you should try and take opportunities to do thing when you can, and luckily it all worked out well.

The day of the premiere Harry and Max loved their first trip to London on a train! When we arrived, we hopped in a taxi (another first for them!) and it was great seeing their faces looking at all the passing double decker buses and exciting buildings that we passed.

The boys have never been to the cinema before (there were alot of 'firsts' going on that day!) I explained to Harry that the cinema was like a really big TV and confused, Harry asked me if he can turn it on... I told him the Fat Controller was in charge of that!

The Fat Controller was in the foyer and we were greeted by a little Thomas the Tank and there was even a blue carpet to walk on. When we arrived into the cinema, there was a bag of popcorn and water waiting for us, which went down a treat with the boys. The Fat Controller talked to us before the film started, getting everyone to join in, which created a real buzz.

The film itself was great. Harry and Max behaved themselves watching the film and both seemed pretty engrossed by it. (although he thinks that bash, Dash and Ferdinand are abit scary with his frightening teeth!)

The Fat Controller finished the film off with a sing song with everyone and we are led into the foyer where we're greeted with face painting, balloon making, food and of course, a massive train track for the little ones to play with.

On our way out we were given a big bag full of Thomas goodies, including Play Doh, Mega Bloks, chocolates, Thomas toys plus a DVD of the film (which we watched again when we got home). The boys were completely spoilt rotten and had a great time - we were so glad we came and won this fab competition."

That's a pity, but as long as you had a good time there.  Maybe you'll get to 'brush shoulders' with the stars another time. About 2 years ago

LOL, yes maybe I am not too worried about that kind of thing though, I was too engrossed in watching the boys have a brilliant time. About 2 years ago
