In it togetherUnicef has worked tirelessly to eliminate the threat of MNT in 8 countries: Ghana, Myanmar, Uganda, Liberia, Guinea Bissau, Timor Leste, Burkina Faso and Senegal. But, 130 million women and their newborns are still at risk in 33 countries around the world. V is for vaccinateTo date, Pampers and Unicef has helped 100 million women of child-bearing age to get the protection they need. Time to actBut more needs to be done. Still 58,000 babies die in their first month of life every year due to the illness. Political crisis in countries like the Ivory Coast means women are forced away from health centers, or they're closed down altogether.
