Bob the Builder gets a makeover: what do you think?

Bob the Builder has been given a makeover – and, if first Twitter reactions are anything to go by, it's not going down too well. The original short and tubby Bob, star of the hugely successful stop-motion children's TV series in the 90s, has been slimmed down and made taller and younger-looking for a new computer-generated series due to air next year.
When Bob's new look (pictured, above) was revealed, fans took to Twitter to express their dismay. "He doesn’t look old enough to hold any kind of qualification" one fan complained, according to The Guardian, while another said, "He looks like he drinks Carling and votes UKIP."
While the makers of the new series insist that it will retain "the emotional warmth that has always given Bob the Builder a firm place in the hearts of young viewers", it seems as though many think the makeover's gone too far. "They've broken Bob the Builder!" tweeted one fan. "The new one is rubbish. Can they fix it?"
The original 90s series featured former Men Behaving Badly star Neil Morrissey as the voice of Bob, and the theme song "Can we fix it? Yes we can!" was a Christmas number 1 single in 2000.
In the new series, Bob has a new home in Spring City and he will be voiced by Lee Ingleby, who starred in recent BBC1 drama Our Zoo and played the Knight Bus conductor in the Harry Potter films.
