Cricketer Graeme Swann reveals leaving newborn son was "gut wrenching"
New dad admits he felt sad leaving his two-day old son behind for his cricket duties
Cricketer Graeme Swann has admitted that he felt guilty leaving his newborn son, Wilfred, after he was picked to play for England in the current cricket world cup.
"It's a bit of a whirlwind. It's gut-wrenching to leave my son," 35-year-old Graeme told the Metro. "Within two days of the little fella coming into the world, I'm saying a teary goodbye."
Graeme had been selected as one of England's bowlers, which meant that he had to leave his son just days after he was born. "Wilfred doesn't know what's going on - but I do. But that's our lot as international cricketers," he said.
