Mum criticised after toddler cries during two minutes' silence
She was out shopping on Armistice Day when her little one decided to have a tantrum...
A mum from Bristol has spoken out after being judged for her child’s crying fit during the two-minute silence on Armistice Day.
The woman, who remained unnamed in the original report by the Bristol Post, claims that her 14-month-old began crying just as the clock struck 11am on 11 November, while they were shopping at a local Aldi.

We’ve all been there in some form or another, right? You just know your little one's about to have a wobbly during the ONE MOMENT you need them to chill out.
But, of course, babies and very small kids just don’t understand these things… and so this mum made the best out of a bad situation, and did all she could to calm her child down.

"I continued to walk around the shop holding my upset baby and comforting him by talking.
“I heard other shoppers at the end of silence saying quite loudly that they thought I was disrespectful.”
But here’s the real kicker: the mum says she served in both Iraq and Afghanistan, meaning she’s a veteran herself.
As a result, Remembrance Day is very important to her:
"I served in Iraq in 2003 and Afghanistan in 2007 in the field hospitals. I have never forgotten Armistice Day and I had the honour to wear my medals with pride whilst I was on parade at the 2009 Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall."
She also told the Post something we defs agree with: there is no winning that situation.
Either you let ‘em wail uncontrollably and remain dead silent - giving strangers the impression that you don’t care - or you try talking softly to comfort them, giving strangers the impression you're being disrespectful.
Well, for what it’s worth, we reckon she handled it pretty well ?
