Sainsbury’s launches candy floss flavoured grapes
Scientists dream up fruit that tastes like the fluffy fairground favourite
Children will soon be queuing up for their healthy treats after scientists launch candy floss flavoured grapes.
UK retailer Sainsbury’s has become the first supermarket to sell the new “Cotton Candy” snack, with 35 stores stocking it on a trial run.
The fuit has a very sweet taste and hit the shelves just in time for school, in the hope it could be the new lunch box must-have.
Finbar Cartlidge, the supermarket’s fruit buyer, said: “This variety should be popular. Customers may want to encourage kids to eat fruit or simply want something fun.”
Developed from the Lambrusco grape in America, the tasty treat is also available in a strawberry flavour. Both have gone on sale costing £3 for a 400g punnet.
