Suzanne Shaw: living up to Celeb Mum of the Year, Darren Day and her new DJ husband

You married Jason King (of the DJ duo JK and Joel) in June, how do he and Corey get on?

Brilliantly, they're the best of mates. Jason's a great father to Corey so I couldn't wish for it to be any better. They do what they call 'divorced dad day' when I'm at work and Jason takes Corey for a Wimpy. They call it that because with just the two of them together Jason thinks it looks like he's got his son for the day!

Darren Day is Corey's biological dad, do they see a lot of each other?

They have a great relationship. Darren and I talk when we need to talk and help each other out when we need to. The fact they have a great relationship with each other is all I can ask for from the situation.

You've spoken about having children with Jason, how would that affect the family dynamics?

I think Corey would love it. All his friends have got brothers and sisters and he keeps saying he wants little people to live with him. I don't know if that's his way of saying, "Come on mummy, have a baby!"

What does Corey enjoy getting up to?

He's a massive Disney fan and at the moment he's obsessed with Disney Interactive Studio games. He absolutely loves Toy Story Mania! And he makes me do Disney Sing It: Pop Hits. It's funny, he won't sing but he likes watching me do it. I must admit, I'm a bit of a game fan too and currently playing A Christmas Carol on the Nintendo DS. It is a great follow on from the film.

What are your plans for Christmas?

I'm in White Christmas the musical this year so Corey will come to watch it on Christmas Eve and we'll be with my family in Manchester for Christmas Day. Unfortunately, I only have one day off but it'll be a treat to all be together.

Does Corey believe in Santa?

Absolutely, yes! But it was funny when we were doing the photo shoot for Disney's A Christmas Carol game. There was a Santa there and Corey said, "I don't think he was the real Father Christmas, it was just a man dressed as Father Christmas." I thought it was so funny! I explained that it was probably Santa's helper because Father Christmas is really busy at the moment and it's not possible for him to be everywhere. I just couldn't believe he picked up on it though.

What's Corey hoping for in his stocking?

He's written a letter to Father Christmas asking for a red rocket. I can't find a red rocket anywhere so I think I'm going to have to make one! He also said he wanted a blue plane and a yellow kite - he's very specific! He doesn't like anything commercial but once he's got something in his head he really wants it!
