Sam Faiers' baby name revealed (and why it didn't go down well)
Sam names her baby after her boyfriend – and defends her choice on Instagram
Sam Faiers has confirmed the name of her first son. The Only Way Is Essex star has named him… Paul Tony.
"We always wanted him to be called Paul after his dad. It’s traditional and we didn’t have any other names on the list, so he’s Paul and his middle name is Tony after Paul’s brother, his Uncle Tony," the 25-year-old told OK! magazine.

"We call him baby Paul or just ‘baby’ at the moment. We haven’t called him Paul yet."
Paul is an old Latin name that means small or modest. Meanwhile, Tony is a shortening of Anthony that means protector in Latin.

But not everyone was impressed by Sam's choice and the new mum received criticism on Instagram.
"Paul ?," one user commented. "Shame about the name ?," another commented.
But Sam's fans leapt to her defence.
"Naming your child is something precious and the name should have a special meaning to you," one said. "Don't be disrespectful about what she has decided to name her child after someone important to her, the man she loves. Paul is a good solid name."
And Sam was clearly glad of the support, screenshotting and sharing one of the comments on Instagram.
After dating for 15 months, Sam and Paul became parents to their first son in December.
