ASBO families to get lessons in parenting
Families in Greater Manchester are to receive lessons to help them cope with troublesome children.

Parenting support officers will offer a help to parents in deprived communities by teaching them techniques to improve their child's behaviour and advise them on health, finance, education, personal achievement and safety.
Parents will be guided on what is normal behaviour for a child, along with how to use praise, set clear limits and improve communication skills to help prevent or stop bad behaviour.
The 12-week course is open to anyone seeking advice including extended family members.
Mark Connolly, of the children's charity NCH, praises the move, saying, "Being a parent isn't always that easy and help at difficult times can be hugely effective. Some parents need help with some basic skills and confidence. All parents, even those who are struggling, have strengths that can be built on."
