Have you started weaning? If so, you may want to try LITTLE STEPS® Follow-on Milk by SMA – a great complement to the weaning diet
When your little one reaches 6 months, it’s such an exciting time. Every day your baby is growing, learning and doing new things – including weaning. And LITTLE STEPS® Follow-on Milk can help support your baby’s growth and development as you embark on that journey.
Why LITTLE STEPS® Follow-on Milk?
LITTLE STEPS® is designed for babies from 6 months onwards to complement the weaning diet. The milk is enriched with iron to help support cognitive development. It also contains calcium and vitamin D for the growth and development of bones – plus vitamin D helps to contribute to the function of the immune system in children*.
Ready to try it?
All babies are different but, if your baby is formula-fed, try to ensure that, from 6 months to 1 year, they have 500-600ml of milk a day, either as a drink, on cereals or mixed with food.
The milk is available in an 800g powder can with a scoop provided under the can’s lid. There are approximately 177 scoops per can. So, if you mix 1 scoop of powder (4.5g) to 30ml of water, each can will give you around 29 x 200ml servings.
Pull the safety seal and open the lid. Lift the tab, pull on the foil seal, then carefully and safely remove the seal and dispose of it.
Wash your hands well, and wash and sterilise all your utensils according to the manufacturers’ instructions.
Boil 1 litre of fresh tap water (don’t use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water) and allow it to cool for no more than 30 minutes. Next, carefully measure 180ml of the water into a baby beaker or bottle.
Using only the scoop provided in your can of LITTLE STEPS® Follow-on Milk, add 6 scoops of powder, levelling off each with the back of a clean, dry knife. Store the scoop in suspension inside the can and replace the lid.
Place the lid on the beaker, or the teat on the bottle, and shake well until the powder is fully dissolved. Cool the beaker/bottle under cold running water, or in a bowl or jug of cold water, until lukewarm (do not immerse the lid/teat). Test the temperature of the milk by shaking a few drops onto the inside of your wrist before giving it to your little one.
