Banana with eggy bread soldiers

A great weekend breakfast treat, suitable from 8 months



  • whole egg 1
  • milk 1 splash
  • Butter 1 knob
  • whole banana 1
  • slice of bread 1


  • Step 1

    Beat the egg and milk in a bowl.

  • Step 2

    Heat the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat.

  • Step 3

    Cut the bread in half and dip into the mixture.

  • Step 4

    When the butter is sizzling, add the bread to the pan and turn down the heat.

  • Step 5

    Once it’s a nice golden colour turn over and cook the other side.

  • Step 6

    Blot with kitchen paper to remove excess grease.

  • Step 7

    Slice the banana and serve.

  • Remember to keep the slices chunky so your child can hold them.
  • To add extra flavour, sprinkle cinnamon into the batter mix.
