Sweet potato and pear puree

Make 10 freezable portions of this tasty puree, suitable for first weaning

  • 3 large sweet potatoes
  • 4 whole conferenceĀ pearsĀ 


  • Step 1

    Scrub and peel the sweet potatoes, then chop into 2cm cubes.

  • Step 2

    Place sweet potatoes in a pan and cover with boiling water. Bring back to the boil and simmer for around 15 minutes, until just tender.

  • Step 3

    Meanwhile, peel and chop the pears.

  • Step 4

    Add the chopped pears to the pan and return to the boil for around six minutes.

  • Step 5

    Drain and mash or puree, as required.
