A new study has revealed the top 10 cities across the country where Father Christmas spends the most on gifts per child. The research found that kids in Birmingham receive gifts costing an average value of £314, the highest in the UK.
Coming in second is Southampton, where according to the study Father Christmas spends an average of £297 on gifts for the kids. Manchester came last place with children there receiving presents valuing an average of £173.
The research carried out by the company behind a new social gift contribution app, the Grant My Wish App, saw 2,162 parents take part. All had a UK average of two children aged between 4 and 10.
As part of the study, the parents where also asked if Father Christmas had become ‘less generous’ as their kids became older. Three quarters of the respondents (76%) said no.
