Keira Knightley has confirmed she’s pregnant with her first child. After weeks of baby rumours, Keira’s publicity person has confirmed that she’s expecting her first child with husband James Righton, but said she won’t be making any further comment.
A few weeks ago, the actress was spotted wearing a pair of denim dungarees – and the internet lit up with rumours that she was 12 weeks pregnant. Here’s how the evidence unfolded before the official confirmation…
1 Report in US magazine Star – The publication reported that The Imitation Game actress is delighted to be expecting her first child with her Klaxons band member husband James Righton.
“Keira and James are thrilled,” the source told Star magazine. “This wasn’t planned, but that is how they wanted it.”
2 Her outfits – There was speculation that Keira’s been in cohorts with a stylist to cleverly hide her growing bump from the millions of camera lenses she’s been in front the last few weeks to promote her latest film with co-star Benedict Cumberbatch, including a gathered print dress at the New York premiere and a 60s-style swing dress at the NY BAFTAs.
“Keira and her stylist have been putting together looks that hide her growing bump,” the source added.
And then, there are the dungarees that she was spotted wearing on Wednesday. The baggy denims really got the gossipmongers excited.
3 Uncannily good timing – The timing fitted in well with Keira’s work schedule. She’s just finished shooting her upcoming film Everest, and reportedly doesn’t have any more projects in the pipeline.
“She will be able to relax and settle into family life in London,” the source said.
4 She’s been turning down the champagne – Eagle-eyed diners had spotted that Keira had used a glass of water rather than wine to join in the toasts, while attending public functions.
Put all that together with the fact that the 29-year-old married her rock star beau earlier this year and the signs were all there.
