“American children are more confident,” claims Victoria Beckham

British children could do with more confidence says Posh

The newly appointed American Idol judge Victoria Beckham, 33, has spoken out about the difference between children from the US and their British counterparts.

“They have far more confidence – they breed belief and we could do with a little more of that,” she was reported as saying to the Metro.

Someone who is clearly not lacking confidence is her four-year-old son Cruz, who loves to drive the paparazzi crazy in his showman fancy dress outfits, most recently dressed as a funky astronaut (link to previous blog)

While Victoria is keen to spread the confidence amongst British children she admits she lacks it herself and suffers from insecurity.

Recently defending her statement pouty, sulky poses which she is often seen sporting, the mum-of-three turned fashion designer told Elle magazine why she isn’t her happiest in front of the camera.

“I do have my insecurities. Maybe that’s why I look a little bit serious. The kind of person who’s going to stand on the red carpet and have the big grin – I’m not like that,” she has explained.

It seems that the seemingly confident and not-so-camera shy Victoria is a home girl at heart. “I want to get in there, do what I’ve got to do, and get home to my kids.”
