Once those feel-good Christmas ads roll around we know it’s time to start getting the turkey in and buying presents.
But this year there seems to be a new trend in ad land – for Halloween adverts in a similar vein to those sumptuous Crimbo ones – all cute kids dressed up and dining tables adorned with festive food.
Here at MFM, in spite of ourselves we must admit we LOVE the Tesco: Introducing Spookermarket ad (watch it in full below) which shows shopping trolleys moving as if on their own and heads peeping out from behind loo rolls (it’s good, spooky fun – and not too scary, don’t worry).
Asda and Sainsbury’s have produced some pretty good stuff too with some gorgeous outfits and goody-laden tables.
And Waitrose has got in on the act with a very grown-up ‘Autumn’ ad which shows people outdoors in the blustery weather then indoors turning up the heating and opening windows (what’s that about?) and lots of wood-chopping and fancy home-baked meals.
Their strap line is ‘Make Autumn the warmest season’; awww, we feel all tingly inside…
