Parents spend more than £300 a year on unwanted toys, study reveals


Mums and dads are splashing out more than £300 on toys their children either play with once, or discard without thought, a study says.


A whopping 94% of the 1, 211 parents polled by admitted to buying a toy that their children never touched. More than half of parents said unused toys were often just chucked away.

Hanging on to old toys didn’t prove too popular, either, with 71% of parents admitting their children played with less than 10% of their toy collection on a regular basis.
