BP recall face painting kits that ‘caused health problems’

World cup face paint kit withdrawn after children suffered skin irritations

England World Cup face painting kits sold at BP garages have been recalled and withdrawn from sale. It follows reports that they caused children skin irritations and breathing problems after use, reports the Telegraph.

Trading Standards have launched an investigation after four children needed medical attention after using the kits called ‘England Face Paints’.

The recall of the £1.99 pack was put into place following two sets of brothers aged between five and 11 complaining of health problems an hour after applying the paints.

Initial tests on the face paints showed the packs failed to meet toy safety and cosmetic product regulations.

With England playing today, there are sure to be lots of painted faces. Do double-check whether your face paint kit is one of these recalled ones before you get into the spirit.
