The Indian government has called for a ban on a popular reality TV show where celebrities look after stranger’s babies.
‘Pati, Patni aur Who’ is modelled on the BBC show ‘Baby Borrowers’ and lets celebrity couples look after babies, toddlers and teenagers for 4 days.
While the show is popular with viewers, The Ministry of Women and Child Welfare in India has asked NDTV Imagine, which produces the show, to stop broadcasting the programme, saying the children are too young to speak up for their rights.
NDTV Imagine has responded by saying they back the show as parents monitor the children 24-hours a day, and there is a trained nurse in the house with the celebrities at all times.
There’s yet to be a decision if the show does continue.
