Coronation Street star launches baby swimming classes
TV actress Alison King inspired by early swimming accident

Alison King has launched a national swimming initiative for new babies.
The 36-year-old actress, who gave birth to 7-month-old daughter Daisy Mae in March, said that the inspiration to take her daughter swimming from such an early age stems from a frightening accident when she was younger. “My mum got into trouble in the water and almost drowned. She never went back in the water but she made sure I learned to be a good swimmer from a very early age. Now I’m passing that on to Daisy Mae.”
The actress took her baby daughter to her first class yesterday morning in Cheshire.
The national swimming sessions, organised in conjunction with Enjoy Swimming and Swimtime, are being spearheaded by former world champion and Olympic swimmer James Hickman.
