Coronation Street’s Samia Smith gives birth
Actress welcomes baby daughter Freya
Soap star Samia Smith and husband Matthew have welcomed a baby girl Freya, who weighed in at 7lbs 2oz.
“The couple are delighted. Everyone at Corrie is thrilled at the latest arrival to the Corrie family,” a spokesperson for Samia and Matthew revealed.
The 27-year-old actress who plays Maria Connor in Coronation Street, recently ‘gave birth’ in a dramatic storyline where she delivered her baby on a beach! Gladly, Samia’s real-life birth experience was less traumatic, though her pregnancy wasn’t without its dramas.
Eight months into her pregnancy Samia and her husband found a dead body in the back of a van while walking their dogs. The mum-to-be also lost her dad to cancer just days after officially announcing her pregnancy.
Her pregnancy style was flawless, with her rocking boheminian styles from Mamas & Papas. Amazingly, Samia successfully hid her growing bump on the set of Corrie - using doors, baggy clothes and cushions!
