David Beckham has just become our hero. The dad-of-4 has taken on the tabloids that criticised him for giving 4-year-old daughter Harper a dummy saying: "you have no right to criticise me as a parent." Bravo David and good on you for standing up for our right not to be judged!

Sharing a screenshot of the Daily Mail's story on Instagram, David commented: "Why do people feel they have the right to criticize a parent about their own children without having any facts?? Everybody who has children knows that when they aren't feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it's a pacifier so those who criticise think twice about what you say about other people's children because actually you have no right to criticise me as a parent..."

Yesterday, we reported that Harper Beckham had been photographed by paparazzi sucking on a pink dummy while walking with her dad in West Hollywood. The pictures – published on the front page of the Daily Mail – raised concerns with some experts over her speech development and dental health.

"It may be a frightening place for a 4 year old, a world where she is followed by media everywhere (strangers) if it gives her comfort who are we to judge! I'm sure she won't be wondering around with it when she is 16!" one MFMer commented. "It's the parents decision to give it or not and if they do then it should be taken away at a time when the child is ready and in such a way that the child is not traumatised," another added.
