She’s one of the biggest movie stars in the world dating (arguably) the biggest heartthrob of our time. So how does Eva Mendes feel 6 weeks after giving birth to her first child with Ryan Gosling? “Completely exhausted”. We’re sorry to say it Eva, but we’re a little bit glad you’re as tired as the rest of us.
“I’m doing it without a nanny for now – but I’m open to the idea of having a nanny in the future. As far as a nanny or a night nurse, for me that part of being a mother at this early stage is the struggle of not being able to sleep and not knowing what I’m doing and really going through it with her and battling out those nights,” Eva told Violet Grey in the first interview that she has given since her pregnancy. “I thought my wild nights were over but these are some of the wildest nights I’ve ever had.”
The 40-year-old first time mum admits that she’s “constantly” scared that she’s doing something wrong and that she has found comfort in online parenting forums. “Just knowing that I’m not alone out there and that other mums have gone through the same thing can at least get me through the night,” she said.
But Eva insists that it’s actually the babies that have it worse off – not mums.
“It’s way harder to be a baby,” she said. “Everything is a struggle for her. For instance, I haven’t thrown up since the ‘90s and she’s thrown up twice since we started this interview. Motherhood is cake compared to what it’s like to be a baby.”
