Fergie welcomes baby boy and calls him Axl Jack Duhamel
Fergie and husband take name inspiration from heavy metal singer
Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel welcomed their first child at a Los Angeles hospital yesterday morning.
Born via C-section, the couple named their 7 pound 10 ounce baby boy Axl Jack Duhamel.
The Black Eyed Peas singer is said to be a big fan of Guns Nā Roses, whose lead singer is called Axl Rose. She even performed Sweet Child Oā Mine with Guns Nā Roses guitarist, Slash, in 2011.
38-year-old Fergie married Transformers star Josh Duhamel in 2009. After the couple announced their pregnancy earlier this year, Josh said in an interview to the Huffington Post: "How cool it is to know that every time I look at her, this little thing is growing. It's amazing just going through that."
Fergie has enjoyed pregnancy it seems, having thrown no less than three baby showers, including one āgaybyā shower at which burlesque drag performers entertained her celebrity friends.
The couple also recruited the help of a dog trainer to help prepare their pooch for the new arrival.
Speaking of her impending motherhood, Fergie said in an interview on Good Morning America: āI have no idea what Iām doing!
"I'm just going to play it by ear and see how things go, and let the natural instincts kick in."
