When Gracie Davis, 5, was a good girl at school, her mum Jessica bought her a pack of Shopkins to say well done.

The £2.50 'blind bag' contained a surprise selection of characters of shopping items and usually has 2 pieces – but Gracie's pack had 3.

"When she saw the items, we realised that the Gemma Bottle perfume had a tag that said it was a limited edition," Jessica said.

"Of course we didn't think anything else of it and put in the box with all the other toys."

It wasn't until the family, from Bolton, were browsing eBay for more Shopkins toys when they realised the limited editions can sell for up to £350.

More research showed only 2,500 Gemma Bottles had been made – so they decided to see what they could get for it.

"When I told Gracie we could get some pennies for her piece, she was really keen to sell it," Jessica said.

They were thrilled when the toy went for £201.67 to a buyer in Texas.

Gracie has already spent half the money on more toys and saved half.

"We went round Toys R Us and had a big shop - she was in her element putting anything she wanted in the basket," her mum said.

"Gracie loves the Shopkins - she's only 5 so she's quite creative and imaginative with them.

"She sets them up and sometimes uses Lego to create a little town with all the pieces in and now she's got lots more.

"She's really happy with the way everything turned out."
