Mary Portas to become a mum again?
The partner of our high street champion, Mary Queen of Shops, is rumoured to be pregnant
Mary Portas, 51, could be set to become a mum for the third time, if reports are to be believed. Mary's partner Melanie Rickey, 38, is rumoured to be pregnant after IVF treatment. The Queen of Shops already has two children, Mylo, 18, and Verity, 16, with her former husband George Portas.
Mary and Melanie haven’t officially confirmed the news but the Sunday Times described Mel as a “soon-to-be-mum” in a special London Fashion Week supplement.
“Everyone’s really pleased for Mel, she has wanted kids of a long time,” a friend of the couple allegedly said, according to the Daily Mail. “She and Mary are really happy together we’re all delighted. Mel’s been telling her colleagues at work and in the fashion work and so has Mary.”
Mary and Mel, who’s Grazia magazine's editor-at-large, have been together for nine years and entered a civil partnership in May 2010.
