When you’re struggling with sleepless nights and dirty nappies, make sure you thank your lucky stars for your children, as new research has shown you’re happier when you become a parent – but only if you’re married first.
The survey from Glasgow University looked at a massive 90,000 mums and dads and found that marriages became happier with the arrival of a baby to the family.
But if you’re not hitched and just living together, the survey suggests a new baby leads to discontent between couples, and concluded the birth of a child is viewed as more of a problem to an unmarried pair or single parent, rather than a blessing.
