How UK celebrities spent Mother’s Day

New mums, expectant mums and those with a brood - everyone from Adele to Fearne Cotton took to Twitter to celebrate Mother's Day. See what they got up to here...

First time mum Adele continues to be coy about her son and life as a new mum, but couldn’t resist a celebratory tweet on Mother’s Day.

After last week sharing a miniature Oscar statue she’d bought home for her son, the excited singer tweeted, “Happy mammas day to all of us! This is my first one! Never been happier 🙂 xx”

Stacey Solomon

Mum-of-two Stacey Solomon showed off her Mother’s Day haul – check out all of those cupcakes and bouquets. Well, after telling us here at MFM that one of her cheeky son’s “loves peeing” on her, we think Zachary and baby Leighton probably owe Stacey a little fuss.

Fearne Cotton

For new mum Fearne Cotton, Mother’s Day came just at the right time as she continues to celebrate the arrival of her and boyfriend Jesse Wood’s first son, Rex. The chuffed star posted this pic of her first card from baby Rex, along with a snap of her own mum. Fearne and gossip columnist Perez Hilton (who’ll soon be celebrating Father’s Day) spent the day sharing their congratulations, too. What a Mother’s Day love in – we can’t get enough!

Amanda Holden

Amanda Holden, mum to two girls – Lexi and Hollie – didn’t share any pictures, but did get a bit emotional come Mother’s Day.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge sent a loving message to all her female followers, writing:

“Happy Mother’s Day to those who are, nearly or trying to be a Mama! Have a wonderful day! What an honour to be blessed with our little ones.” Aww.

Michelle heaton

Michelle Heaton was wowed with an adorable card from baby Faith (and hubby Hugh Hanley of course) complete with pictures and a sweet personal message. We love the pic of the girls together. Michelle also tweeted to say that Faith had been treated to a new bracelet from god mother Katie Price, who is currently pregnant with her fourth child.

Holly Willoughby

There are many reasons to adore yummy mummy Holly Willoughby, but we love the fact that while she’s one classy lady – looking uber chic in this pic – she knows how to keep it real, too. Holly tweeted:

“Perfect meal on Mother’s Day? Fish & chips from our local fish & chip shop. Amazing food.” You go, girl!

Coleen Rooney

Pregnant Coleen Rooney, who is expecting her second son with husband Wayne Rooney, sent a special Mother’s Day tweet to her own mum, writing:

“Happy Mother’s Day everyone, especially to my fantastic mum who I love so much. Enjoy!”

Coleen followed this with a tweet to say that she’d had a fantastic day herself after being treated to a meal in her favourite restaurant. After helping son Kai put together this whopper of a World Book Day costume, we certainly hope she got to put her feet up!

Myleene Klass

Myleene Klass, who has been busy trying to drum up donations for Comic Relief, took a well earned rest to enjoy some tea on Mother’s Day. Myleene told followers, “To you beautiful Mamas who have the hardest, yet the MOST amazing job in the entire world, Happy Mother’s Day.”

Una Healy

Una Healy, who has a daughter Aoife Belle with husband Ben Foden, seen here posing before a US interview, sent a Mother’s Day message to her followers on Twitter. But we rather preferred Ben’s cute message, who wrote:

“Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there! In particular my beautiful mother Jennifer Foden and @UnatheSats my beautiful baby’s mama!” Cute, huh?!

Lily Allen

Even Lily Allen, who has spent much of the last few days rowing with people about pigs on Twitter (don’t ask) remembered to stop and celebrate this special day. Lily, who has two daughters, Ethel Mary and Marnie, wrote, “Happy Mother’s Day !!!!!” Well, it’s to the point, eh?
