Echoing the news that pregnant Denise Van Outen was axed as a TV judge because she is expecting a baby, rumours have been circulating that fellow celeb mum-to-be Dannii Minogue might be getting ‘bumped’ off X Factor because she’ll be giving birth – right in middle of the audition process!
Expectant mama Dannii, 38, is due to give birth in her native Australia in July, which consequently clashes with the X Factor auditions. Simon Cowell, the big boss of the singing contest, is said to be a in a “quandary” about what to do and is considering offering Dannii a scaled-back role on the show as a mentor, rather than an on-the-panel judge. “He knows Dannii was a big part of the show’s success last year but he has been thinking about tinkering with the formula for some time,” a source told the Mirror. “The only spanner in the works is that Dannii is pregnant.”
It’s believed that Simon has already started considering replacements who’ll join himself, Cheryl Cole, 26, and Louis Walsh, 57, in the line up. The new series of the show starts in less than 10 weeks time with nationwide auditions – by then Dannii will already be 8-months pregnant.
Whatever happens one thing’s for sure – Dannii won’t be putting her feet up anytime soon! The busy mum-to-be is currently penning her autobiography and launching her own fashion collection, ‘ProjectD’. She also recently joined a host of other glam celebs as the face of Marks and Spencer.
