Is the UK set for a baby boom?

Rise in pregnancy test sales and decline in contraception sales spark rumours we’re about to see the population rocket

The UK has seen a rise in the amount of pregnancy tests being bought and a decline in contraception sales, a new study has found.

Supermarket chain Tesco has announced a 2.6% drop in the sale of condoms over the last few months, the first fall in a decade.

Demand for home pregnancy tests is also up by a third, with over 3.5 million sold last year. In fact, sales rose 10% in the last two months!

Do you think this means there will be more babies on block? Well, with the credit crunch and freezing weather over the last two months, who can blame us for making our own fun?
