Former footballer Jamie Redknapp had to put his 5-year-old son, Charley, in his place on a recent family holiday to Mallorca.

When he heard Charley boasting to other children by the pool that he was famous, Jamie stepped in to explain that it was no way to make friends.

"I had to explain to him that he shouldn't go around saying things like that," Jamie told Red magazine. 'I said to him, "It's not going to make people like you, you know?" Besides, you are not famous just because you've been in a Nintendo advert.'"

Jamie and Louise have spurned the rock 'n' roll lifestyle that most footballers and their wives are renowned for in favour of strong family values.

"The most important thing for us is that the kids work hard and they are grateful for the life they lead," said Louise, who's also mum to 11-month-old Beau. "We go through all the things that people go through in life. We scream at each other sometimes, and we have days when we can't cope with the kids."
