Jessica Simpson chats about her second pregnancy surprise

Singer says she was "extremely shocked" to learn she was pregnant again and vows not to gain much baby weight

Jessica Simpson and fiance Eric Johnson were "extremely shocked" to learn she was pregnant again, just months after their daughter Maxwell Drew was born.

The singer revealed how she discovered she was once more with child on TV talk show Ellen DeGeneres: "We were definitely shocked. I don't know, apparantly protection was just thrown out the window!"

The mum-of-one, who gained over 22kg when expecting Maxwell, says her second pregnancy has been the "complete opposite" of her first so far.

The 32-year-old explained: "Maxwell was our focus, and then I was puking and lying on the couch.

"With Maxwell, I felt amazing. I could do everything, eat everything. Do whatever I wanted. I had a lot of energy. This time around... I'm exhausted."

The celebrity mum has vowed not to gain as much weight during this pregnancy: "This time around I think because I was doing Weight Watchers and I felt super healthy I'm not really craving as much and I know how hard it is [to take the weight off] so I'm trying to make healthier, wiser decisions."

While Jessica was concerned about her post-baby body, it seems Eric didn't care about the extra baby weight she piled on: "Apparently Eric still wanted me so... I can gain as much weight and I will have a husband-to-be that loves me!"

The glamorous mum tweeted a photo of herself (pictured above) backstage captioned: "Baby bumpin' on @theellenshow tomorrow in my @jscollectionshoes! #fashionstar"
