Baby Benjamin had a silent birth in keeping with Kelly and dad John Travolta’s Scientology beliefs
Kelly Preston has revealed details about her new baby’s birth last November. The actress, who is married to John Travolta, explained how she underwent a silent birth, as recommended by the Church of Scientology. The organisation recommends mums stay quiet during labour to prevent passing any trauma to the baby.
“Silent birth is basically just no words, as much as possible,” Kelly told the Today Show. “If you need to moan, if you cry out or all of that, of course, is normal. But just bringing them in as peaceful and gentle a way as possible.”
The 48-year-old actress attributes her children’s peace and happiness to their calm entrance into the world.
Hubby John Travolta has also been gushing about the new arrival. “Benjamin has given the house a renewed spirit and purpose. He’s brought us a new beginning.”
