Wondering why we haven’t been subjected to a stream of Twitpics from oft-tweeting new parents Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon? Well it’s because they’re hoping to make a pretty penny for the exclusive shots of their twins, Monroe and Moroccan.

However sources say it’s not actually the money that the couple are interested in. After all, Nick could afford a bling-tastic “push present" for mama Mariah and rumour has it Monroe and Moroccan’s nursery was kitted out with pricey luxury items. Apparently, the couple are more concerned about which magazine will offer the most tasteful options for the photoshoot.

“Mariah and Nick are more concerned with doing the right thing than going to the highest bidder,” an insider reportedly told the New York Post. “They’re talking to a number of publications about doing it in the best and most tasteful way.

“Nick has said on the radio that he doesn’t feel entirely comfortable selling pictures of his children. But the first picture remains very valuable to the paparazzi.”

Could it also have something to do with the fact that magazine budgets aren’t quite what the used to be, compared to the “Brangelina baby” days? Back then, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie commanded a cool $15 million for the first shots of their twins (which went to charity). Sources suggest Mariah will have to settle for a significantly lower sum of around $200,000 for her twins' pics.
