New mums go for more traditional names according to new survey

A new survey suggests that new mums are sticking to tradition rather than choosing a celebrity name.


Cussons Mum & Me found that 39 per cent of mums will choose a name that they have always loved, rather than name their child after a celebrity.


One in five mums choose a name that is already in the family and the same amount will choose a name from a book or film that they love.

Only one in 10 mums said they would choose the name of a celebrity for their baby.

Just under 10 per cent would look to their friends for inspiration and choose a name based on one of their acquaintances.

3 per cent will name their child after the place they were conceived just like the Beckhams.
