Despite a distinct lack of December chilliness, snow and excitement about presents, MFM was still focused on Christmas this week, attending Next’s Christmas in July press event. While the gifts and clothes did sparkle, the star attraction of the fashion show was ex-Spice girl Geri Halliwell!
Party season will not be a problem this year as Next has dresses and party wear sorted for every member of the family. Elegant creams and blacks seemed to be the main theme for women, with black star-patterned tights and floaty materials galore.
However, for that super special dress, Geri’s new range would be ideal. She has created a range of floor length stunners in bright jewel shades as well as sophisticated navy and black, in a variety of styles to suit every woman. If you want a dress to give you more confidence after you’ve given birth, then the Chantelle dress would be ideal, as the wrap detail masks the tummy area.
If you’re still getting used to your new pregnancy body, then the Black horse dress is for you, as it’s hidden underwired bra will offer your blooming breasts extra support.
And the best bit? The price. All of the items in the Geri collection cost less than £100, so you can look a million dollars without the million-dollar price tag!
MFM fell in love with the gorgeous children’s clothes, too. Next’s extensive range of knitwear was continued with adorable polar bear hat and booties, perfect for keeping your little one warm and snug. Kids will have no issues dressing up either. The girls Stage theme embraces vintage inspired dresses, with stunning shades of blue, bronze and rose pink. The Broadway look has a subtler colour palette of nudes and blacks, and we particularly loved the bow detail on the girls’ jacket!
We haven’t left out the boys… the Party collection sees your little lad in a mini tux, with impeccable jackets, shirts and ties.
Your partner has no excuses either, as Next revealed its collection of Italian lambs wool jumpers as well as a range of waistcoats and jackets to smarten them up.
Tearing ourselves away from the clothes, we checked out what gift ideas Next had on offer. For the domestic goddess, the spice rack sets and flavoured oils would be ideal for creative cooking. Girls may love the pink mini suitcase and harajuku style dolls. Cute stockings are in abundance, and the Christmas themed Russian dolls, featuring Santa and Rudolf would be a great table decoration. We also thought the dolly mixture decorated cups and storage jar would look great in any sweetie-lover’s kitchen.
