Orlando Bloom's wife champions breastfeeding
Proud parents Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr show off their newborn son
Orlando Bloom's wife, super model Miranda Kerr has released an intimate online image of herself breastfeeding her newborn baby Flynn, who was born on January 6, weighing 9lb 12ounces.
The image, which the couple posted on her blog from Miranda's beauty website, koraorganics.com, shows Kerr, 27, looking naturally beautiful, lying in bed feeding her newborn from her breast.
Breastfeeding advocates have applauded her courage at releasing the picture saying it helps reinforce the message that breastfeeding is natural and is not something women should feel self-conscious about.
Kerr says of the birth, "He is a very healthy and big baby boy. "I gave birth to him naturally; without any pain medication and it was a long, arduous and difficult labour, but Orlando was with me the whole time supporting and guiding me through it."We are so happy. He is our little ray of sunshine."
A spokesperson from the Royal College of Midwives said; "Many women feel awkward about breastfeeding in public these days. But when people see a celebrity nursing their baby, it helps change that."

Australian Miss Kerr - who has modelled for US lingerie brand Victoria's Secret - married British born actor Bloom in a secret ceremony last year. This is not the first time Kerr has celebrated the beauty of a woman having a baby. During her pregnancy she posed naked on the cover of W magazine.
What's your view? Do you think this picture will help the campaign to make public breastfeeding more socially acceptable? Or, do you think a photograph such as this adds pressure on women to conform to the celebrity trend of looking “fabulous” shortly after birth?
